WHAT IS THE STATE SEAL?
The State Seal of Civic Engagement honors students involved in civics/politics. Recipients earn a gold seal on their diploma, recognizing their commitment to improving their community.

Today, fewer than 3% of schools offer the seal, contributing to how less than half of students are civically engaged. By creating opportunities for recognition, we help bridge that divide and encourage students to get involved.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Seal the Deal, a project of the California High School Democrats (CAHSD), aims to bring the State Seal of Civic Engagement to every Californian high school. By making the seal more accessible, we ensure that students can earn recognition for their efforts in civics & politics.
