100 Days in Office, 100 Political Disasters

VINH NGUYEN

EDITOR IN CHIEF

It has been a little over 100 days since Donald Trump took office yet again. To many, it has felt more like 100 years, if anything else, with every day being event-filled, and not in a good way. Bipartisan sentiment reveals a deep concern by many for the future of this country and how the rest of Trump’s term will play out. Protests, including the 50 Protests, 50 states, 1 movement (50501 protests), and the HANDS OFF protests, have broken out and are only gaining momentum as people become more and more frustrated with the Trump administration.

Whether it be economic, with prices going up and supply chains essentially ground to a halt, social unrest with mass deportations of US Citizens, or political instability with Pete Hegseth leaking sensitive war plans bombing Yemen…twice, it is safe to say that no matter your political affliation, the first 100 days of this administration has been the most eventful of nearly any presidency.

This article will cover just 100 of those events, some from before his term, but all represent failures of President Trump and his administration. Unless stated otherwise, all items listed are the direct result of Donald Trump or his administration, whom he instructed.

Cabinet and Federal Appointments

Before he was even inaugurated, Trump surprised many on both sides of the aisle with many of his nominations for his cabinet. Only a few whom he appointed include the following, in which Trump…

  • Appointed dog killer Krist Noem to head the Department of Homeland Security

  • Appointed a known alcoholic and Fox News Host as Secretary of Defense

  • Appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr, a vaccine skeptic with a history of spreading medical misinformation, as Secretary of Health and Human Services

  • Appointed Kash Patel, a hardline conspiracy theorist, to direct the FBI

  • Appointed Tulsi Gabbard, a known Russian sympathizer, as the Director of National Intelligence

  • Appointed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate officials who investigated Trump

  • Appointed climate change denier Lee Zeldin to administer the Environmental Protection Agency

  • Appointed Dr. Oz, known for outrageous medical “miracle” claims, to administer the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

  • Appointed WWE superstar Linda McMahon to the Department of Education

  • Appointed Congresswoman Elise Stefanik as UN ambassador, but redacted this out of fear of losing a House majority

  • Appointed Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, to the newly established Department of Government Efficiency

Inauguration and Early Symbolic Acts

To kick start his Presidency, on January 20th, Trump’s inauguration, while not being as event-filled as the rest of his days , symbolized the events to come and foreshadowed their true motivations of his presidency.

  • Invited the richest tech billionaires to the inauguration despite “populist” appeal

  • Lied during his Inaugural Address… like basically everything he claimed

  • Elon Musk gestured a Nazi Salute at the 2025 inauguration… twice

The first item for consideration is Foreign policy. For decades, the US has been seen as a staunch ally of Western Nations and supported free trade. This is, in fact, what the Republican party platform is based on: free markets, decreased federal regulation on trade, and the facilitation and growth of big business. Thus, it surprised many republicans that Trump would announce such large tariffs on all countries, including allies. Apart from tariffs, many other issues have arisen, and none have resulted in preserving American dignity.

Unless otherwise stated, all actions were the actions of Trump
